Wedding in Villa Monastero, Varenna, Lake Como, Caitlin and Matthew

May 16, 2024 – Despite heavy rain, Caitlin and Matthew’s wedding day proceeded as planned. Caitlin’s makeup began at noon, followed by a photo session with her family and bridesmaids, while Matthew’s photos were taken with his family and groomsmen. The ceremony took place at Villa Monastero, with three priests, including Father Dennis as the main officiant, arriving shortly after 3 PM. The ceremony began at 3:45 PM, with a procession of family and bridal party members before Caitlin walked down the aisle in a stunning white dress.

During the ceremony, Matthew and Caitlin exchanged heartfelt vows and rings, culminating in their first kiss as a married couple. Despite the rain, they took memorable photos on a boat, embracing a local belief that rain on a wedding day brings good luck. Following this, Caitlin retouched her makeup while Matthew prepared for the dinner reception at 7 PM.

The reception featured speeches from close friends and family, and the night ended with the couple reflecting on their joyous and beautifully orchestrated day. They received many photos from loved ones, capturing the essence of their special day.
